Willow's Polar Adventure!
This week in Willow we have continued to explore our Polar Region topic. Reception have explored the Inuit community and their way of life past and present. In P.E Years 1 and 2 developed their gymnastic skills by performing various jumps and balances linked to our Polar theme. During Geography the children explored and labelled the physical features of Antarctica then created some wonderful paintings displaying an Antarctic landscape.
In English the children created some wonderful whale shape poems based on the book The Snow Whale which are now on display. This week we have continued to explore the traditional tale of The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Anderson. The children have had great fun using drama and role play to innovate the story using their own ideas. This week they will write their own versions of the story, we look forward to sharing them with you.
Next Wednesday we are going on a visit to Attingham Park to explore animal habitats and investigate how the animals are preparing for winter. It's going to be a cold one so let's all wrap up warm!
