Willow's Travels...
This week Reception have enjoyed exploring the story 'Mrs Armitage on Wheels' by Quentin Blake. We built Mrs Armitage's amazing bike and set up a bike wash outside. We also thought about designing our own superbike, including one that could fly! We have also been busy building towers and models using 3D shapes, including Big Ben and Buckingham Palace! Years 1 and 2 explored and researched non-fiction texts. We also used iPads to complete research online, collecting interesting facts that will contribute towards our writing. Year 1 have been outside enjoying practical activities linked to measuring volume and capacity, whilst Year 2 have explored the features of 2D and 3D shapes. In DT we designed our very own vehicles. We explored the importance of axles and how they help the wheels on a vehicle rotate. We look forward to sharing the final results with you in next week's BLOG. Meanwhile, the children are continuing to practise singing our wonderful Easter songs in preparation for the service next week when we look forward to celebrating with you all.
