Sheriffhales Primary School is an inclusive school which offers a broad, balanced and creative curriculum which aims to encourage all children to achieve their full potential, including children with SEND. The policies below give an outline as to how we support children with SEND within our school.

Sheriffhales Primary School SEND Information Report
Mrs Sophi Vaughan is our current SENDCO. She can be contacted via email at sophi.vaughan@sheriffhalesschool.org or by by ringing the school directly on 01952 460204.
Our SEND Resources page in the Parents Area of the website is there to help you.
When children with SEND difficulties join our school, appropriate support is put in place for them to succeed. If a child has a statement or an EHCP and Sheriffhales Primary School is named on this, then they will be given priority when requesting a place at our school. If they have been identified as being SEND support in their previous setting, then their application will follow admission procedures as stated in our admissions policy.
If they are transferring from a nursery/preschool setting, transition meetings are set up between the preschool provider and the reception teachers at our school to encourage a smooth handover.
If they are transferring from another primary school, we will seek to find out information regarding attainment and how best to support the child from their previous school setting. We actively encourage parents to speak to the child’s class teacher or SENDCO to discuss any concerns which may arise during transition from one setting to another.
