headteacher message Summer term week 5

We have all enjoyed beautiful weather this week; children have been getting very hot and in need of lots to drink! Please make sure your child has their water bottle in school every day and please check it is named.

We have emailed everyone about our new payment system, called Arbor. We have introduced this to make managing your payments to school for lunches, clubs and trips much easier and much more efficient. Please make sure you have read the email and followed what to do as the Shropshire Council payment portal cannot be used as of next week.

Our year 6 children have worked incredibly hard on their SATs preparations and Miss Boddison and Mrs Palin are very proud of them. They have shown terrific determination and will now be in a great position to enjoy their SATs week breakfasts!

The 6s had some relief joining the rest of the school in Hedgehog Awareness Week – a hoglet should be making its prickly way home to you…  as soon as the clay has dried out! The children have learned about these endangered animals and how we can help them in or own gardens.

Finally, thank you to the PTFA , parents/carers and children for organising Teacher Appreciation Day – we have been utterly spoilt with beautifully -iced cakes, a scrumptious picnic basket lunch and a wonderful assembly with the children’s lovely words about their teachers and adults who look after them in school. Thank you!

Have a lovely weekend!

VE Day

As we have been learning about WWII in History, and today is VE day, we decided to have our own celebration. We listened to different ways in which the special day was celebrated. Then, we made bunting and recreated a photo which was taken in this spot on VE day in 1945!
