Mr Wolf’s pancakes

We have enjoyed tasting Mr Wolf’s pancakes in Acorns today!  We have been learning all about the story of Mr Wolf’s pancakes by Jan Fearnley and writing list of the ingredients that Mr Wolf needs for his pancakes. They tasted delicious!

RSPB Bronze award

Acorns are very proud to have been awarded the RSPB Bronze award for all of their hard work at Forest school. The children completed 6 activities under the categories ‘help nature’ and ‘experience nature’. We are striving for Silver now!

Big school bird watch

This week Acorns and Willow have been taking part in the Big school Bird watch for the RSPB.

We made binoculars and made a tally of all of the birds that we saw at Forest school. We submitted our findings to the RSPB.

Honey sandwiches

This week Acorns have been learning about writing instructions. We wrote our own instructions for making honey sandwiches and then on Friday made our sandwiches and enjoyed a teddy bears picnic.

This term in Acorns we are learning about potions in Science.

We have been blowing bubbles and experimenting with mixing to create our own magical potions.

Forest school

Acorns have been really enjoying Forest school so far this term.

We are striving for our Bronze RSPB Wild Challenge award and so this term we will be taking part in lots of activities about caring for our environment such as creating bird feeders, making bug houses, bird spotting and litter picking.

We have been enjoying making our own dens and toasting marshmallows too!
